On Monday, Z & I visited Seldom Scene Farm, an alpaca & llama farm in Frankfort, for shearing day! It was awesome fun & I just wanted to share. I learned A LOT & cannot wait to go again!
The 3 pictures at the end of the group were added just in case you wanted to learn something! The 1st of the 3 is the raw fiber from the alpacas, right off of the cutting room floor. The second image is called roving, which is the fiber cleaned & combed, ready to be spun. The third is the beautiful finished product, a gorgeous hank of alpaca/merino blend yarn. YAAY!!!

This is, of course, Lily. She’s just so pretty I wanted to show her off. She’s getting so big, she barely looks like a puppy anymore!

Sporting his Bubbabee t-shirt, monster truck in hand & a shiny new haircut, this big guy is ready for action! Getting him to sit for even a second is exhausting, but I finally got a good one!

Or more specifically Lily Mei Mei (Chinese meaning little sister.) She joined our family last night. She is about 10 weeks old & as you can see, she’s as beautiful as she is sweet. So far, she’s a very good puppy. You will be seeing much more of her, once I get a chance to sit down again!

From Mike:
Check out the “Staff Writer” on this article in the “Tullahoma News” … we have a journalist in the family, and they’re sending her all over town, and soon all over lower TN to do feature articles for the local newspaper…

Zander started Karate classes this week at Shao-Lin Karate in downtown Nicholasville. He has been really excited to start and to also spend time with his instructor, Sensei Robert. Here is Zander’s sparring stance, right before he turns into a blur of fists and elbows..

Mom and Dad submitted this picture to me of my Grandpa Oxender and my cousin Carrie having a snooze after Thanksgiving dinner. Carrie thought that I could come up with a funny caption, but I thought it would be fun to let others try to come up with a caption. The picture appears below, so have at it!

Wow! Just, wow!
For the past three days, I have been converting photos, uploading photos, reformatting graphics, creating database tables, and so on and so on, and the light at the end of the tunnel is upon me.
This week I figured that it was time to overhaul gallutia.com and bring it up to the Web 2.0 era (hate the term, but those “in the know” know what I’m talking about). Please feel free to post comments and make suggestions as I continue finalizing the look and feel of the site.
Thank you for sticking with us and thank you for dropping by!
