Zander is doing great and changing every day.  In fact, if you go to the photo gallery you can see that he is starting to smile quite a bit.

Brandie took Zander to his six week checkup with his cardiologist and everything looked good to the doctor.  It looked so good that the doctor decided to take Zander off of his final medication (which regulated his heart beat).

Finally, I just set up Brandie’s e-mail account with gallutia.com.  I know that she would love to hear from you, so please send your messages to brandie@gallutia.com.

Zander had quite a few doctor’s appointments this past week.  The surgeon met with him Monday and said that he was doing great and that we wouldn’t have to visit her any more due to his excellent progress (even though visiting the doctor is always pleasant, I hope I never run into her under these circumstances again) .

Zander also met with his pediatrician and gave him three shots (all of them felt by Brandie more than the boy) and weighed him in at 10 pounds 10 ounces.  He’ll be a Titan linebacker before long (at least that’s what my retirement portfolio is banking on ;)

Everything is falling into a much-needed routine around here.  Zander is growing like a weed, Zander’s mom and dad are getting enough sleep (for now), and things are generally good with the universe.

As I continue to manipulate this site, I’ll be adding more pictures and eventually a birth diary of the trials that the family went through to get Zander home.  It’s a sad story, but it definitely has a happy ending.

Stay tuned!

Zander went to the cardiologist last Friday and everything looks great.  His scars are healing nicely and he’s gaining weight every day.  I think Brandie is almost tapped out as far as breast milk goes, but she’s pumpin’ away like a trooper.
